Founding Partner

EXPERIENCE

Mr. Massumi is a Founding Partner of MCLLP. Prior to founding MCLLP, he was a partner with the private equity and M&A group of Kirkland & Ellis LLP in Los Angeles, California.  At K&E, he represented numerous private equity and growth equity funds and their broad range of portfolio companies in complex domestic and cross-border transactions, along with other public and private companies in varying stages of their lifecycle.

Mr. Massumi is an adjunct professor of Corporate Finance at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, and a guest Lecturer in the M&A Transactions course at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law. He also sits on the Board of Trustees of the Children’s Bureau, an organization that endeavors to protect vulnerable children through prevention, treatment and advocacy.

Mr. Massumi has been recognized by the Los Angeles Business Journal and the Los Angeles Times as a Legal Visionary, Leader of Influence as a Private Equity Advisor and as one of the Most Influential Private Equity Advisors in Los Angeles.

EDUCATION

Mr. Massumi received the Regents Scholarship and National Merit Scholarship from the University of California, Los Angeles where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a minor in Business Administration, Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude.  Mr. Massumi then earned his Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School.

Mr. Massumi is licensed to practice law in the State of California.
